MEADOW HILL ROAD BRIDGE UPDATE

The Meadow Hill Road bridge replacement project is advancing to its next stage.

The contractor is scheduled to begin removal of the bridge on Monday, July 7.

Here are a few key things to know:

  • Demolition operations will occur overnight on weeknights and will require lane closures on the Thruway (I-87) in both directions.
  • Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • The contractor anticipates it will take approximately two weeks to fully remove the bridge’s concrete deck, steel girders, and substructure.
  • One night during the week of July 14th, there will be multiple traffic stops on the Thruway so steel can be safely removed. Each stop typically lasts about 15 minutes.
