Jim Politi was elected to the Town Board on November 5th, 2024. He previously sat as a member of the Town's Zoning Board of Appeals.
Jim and his wife, Marjorie Hillman-Politi, are lifelong residents of Newburgh. They built a home in our Town 32 years ago and raised their two sons there. All are graduates of Newburgh Free Academy.
Jim received his BA from SUNY New Paltz and completed his graduate studies in Public Administration at UAlbany's Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy.
Since graduating from SUNY New Paltz, Jim has served in municipal administration positions in the Hudson Valley. Serving his last 24 years as a Village Manager. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Superintendent of Public Works, Construction Inspector for public works of improvement, and with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and US Army Corps of Engineers.
Outside of his professional career, Jim continues to serve as a Boy Scout Leader, entering his 26th year. During that time, he had the privilege of seeing his sons achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Jim currently serves as the Coordinator of Food Supply Deliveries for a local food pantry.
