TOWN CLERK OFFICE OPEN SATURDAY, APRIL 22
Release Date: April 12, 2017

NEWBURGH TOWN CLERK OPEN SATURDAY, APRIL 22

Town Clerk Andrew Zarutskie has issued a reminder to residents of the Town of Newburgh that they are going to be afforded an opportunity to conduct business at their Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall Saturday, April 22.  The Town Clerk’s office will be open from 9 a.m. until 12 noon on that day.
Town Hall is located at 1486 Route 300, one half mile north of the intersection with State Route 52.  Zarutskie will be accompanied that day by Brenda Milkovich and Jeanne Patterson, his deputies.
Zarutskie announced that his office will be available for all of its normal services, including issuance of marriage licenses, the sale of new and renewal dog licenses, hunting and fishing licenses, and all notary public services.
Zarutskie pointed out that marriage licenses can be purchased at any Town or City Hall in New York State, regardless of where the bride and groom reside.  Accordingly, couples who cannot come in during the week can report to Newburgh Town Hall on April 22.  This is an extremely appropriate day for couples contemplating a June wedding.  Couples seeking a marriage license must both present their birth certificates and a current picture ID.  If either party had been married previously, they must show the documentation of the termination of the most recent marriage (divorce papers, annulment decree, death certificate).    In New York State, marriage licenses must be obtained more than 24 hours before the wedding, but not more than 60 days before the wedding.
New York State Hunting and fishing licenses are also being issued by the Town Clerk’s office, and applicants need not be residents of the Town of Newburgh.  However, dog licenses and handicapped parking permits can be obtained ONLY from the Town Clerk in the Town where the person resides.
Any further questions can be asked by calling 564-4554.
